"Bring Your Own Booze" Ring Making Workshop is a fun yet informative silversmithing class where you will learn how to make a variation of stackable rings in sterling silver while sipping on some wine.
Students will be taught how to apply different hammered textures, use a torch to anneal & solder, clean and polish rings.
Great friend, group or date activity!
We will be serving a cheese & fruit plate but feel free to bring your own snacks :)

The versatile nature of wax will be explored through demonstration of carving, usage of burrs, and finishing techniques. Completed projects will be professionally cast with explanation of process. You will have the option to make a mold to cast multiple pieces. Working in wax offers jewelers great possibilities for creating jewelry with a sculptural feel. This class is for those at beginners level.

Introductory class, students will learn techniques for carving large sculptural bracelets as well as more delicate ones. Basic carving, hollowing, and texturing techniques will be covered. The second class will focus on metal finishing techniques for the pieces carved in the first class.

CLOISONNE ENAMEL
A technique of applying powdered glass to metal and then torch or kiln firing it to its melting point the enamel cools in brilliant colors to make an amazing decoration on your metalwork. The technique dates back to the time of the ancient Egyptians who used it on pottery and jewelry.
In this one day workshop, you will use cloisonne wire to create a design of your own and learn how to apply enamel properly, fire to the correct temperature, counter-enamel to prevent cracking and wet-sand and polish to create a finished piece.

Learn how to pierce a design of your own onto a piece of silver in which you can make into a ring or pendant. You will have various crushed stones to choose from to inlay into your piece. Techniques such as sawing, piercing, sweat soldering, stone inlay, and finishing will be covered.

Learn to prong set your own gemstones in this one day weekend workshop. Starting with sterling silver 4 prong settings and faceted round gemstones, learn how to measure and account for depth and shape of the stone, cut a seat and create a bearing with files & burs.
*This class focuses more on the actual setting of stones into prong settings, not the fabrication of prongs. We recommend taking a private stone setting workshop f you would like to go over in depth how to make your own prong settings.
Prerequisite: Intermediate/Advance level - You must have basic soldering and fabrication experience to take this class.

Build on your metal skills by exploring the process of bezel setting. This one day workshop will concentrate on making simple but beautiful bezels for pendants, earrings or rings in sterling silver. The workshop will cover step and fancy bezels.
Bring your own stones or choose from a selection of cabochon stones sold at the studio. Make sure the stones you select are either an oval or round cabochon (flat bottom) with a hardness of 7 or higher on the moh scale. Recommended stones include sapphires, tourmalines, amethysts, rubies, topaz, and citrines.
Prerequisite: You must have basic soldering and fabrication experience to take this class.

Learn to measure, account for depth and shape, cut a seat, and set faceted and cabochon stones in a tube setting. This one day tube setting class will cover how to cut a seat for faceted and cabochon stones and set with a tube setting kit and foredoom hand piece. Bring your own faceted or cabochon stones, practice with cubic zirconium stones or purchase stones at the studio.
