Yuko Matsumura, the designer behind Ariko Jewelry, came from Tokyo Japan to New York in 2004. She studied at Studio Jewelers and later found work as a diamond setter in the jewelry district of New York City. Then in 2010 she launched her own line of jewelry.
Today, she resides in Brooklyn New York, where she creates one-of-a-kind jewelry. With a level of quality usually only seen in old-world craftsmanship. The process begins by sketching designs with pencil on paper. These are then translated into an original wax sculpture. A mold is created from the wax, and then the metals are cast and polished.
Yuko’s work has an organic aesthetic that has become her signature style. She tries to express the forces of nature. The weathering volcanic rocks. The surface of the earth and the beauty of natural materials.
Each piece is handmade and hand-finished. Thus, no two are exactly alike. Her collections includes 18k and 14k gold, platinum and sterling silver. Diamonds, sapphires, rubies and semi-precious stones.
All pieces are 100% recycled precious metals. And all diamonds are Kimberly certified conflict free diamonds.
