Raphael received his BFA at Memphis college of Art, and studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. He currently works in NYC as a freelance designer and metals consultant.
“I have a great appreciation for the craft of metalworking and the visual arts. I have a passion for creating unique sculptural pieces that convey a story line. I am interested in the way that mechanisms provide kinetic movement in my work - and how these movements mirror reality.
I search for the humorous qualities of daily life and transcribe them in my work – using metal as a medium for dialog”.
Raphael has recently returned from traveling in Mexico where he sipped some fine sipping tequila.
